TV Time shut down. Here's how to bring your shows into ATJV

TV Time shut down in July 2026, and a lot of people lost years of history with it. If you exported your data before that, you have a file sitting somewhere, and ATJV can read it.

A duel in ATJV: Arcane against Silicon Valley, you have to pick one

I'd rather say it right away : ATJV is not an episode tracker. There's no checkbox per episode and no season counter. It's a game, you swipe shows, you make them fight in duels, and the app learns your taste so it can pick one show for you in the evening. If what you need is knowing where you stopped in season 3 episode 6, ATJV won't do that and I prefer you know before installing it.

But if you want your years of TV Time to be good for something, that's exactly why I wrote the import.

What the import does

Your export has one line per episode watched. ATJV groups them by show : a show that's in the file becomes a "seen" show in My Shows. Movies are skipped, the app is only about shows.

Each title is looked up in the TMDB database. When the title matches exactly, that one is used. Otherwise it takes the first result, so a show with a very common name can land on the wrong one once in a while. I chose that over losing the show.

Shows you already had in ATJV are never overwritten. And if the connection drops halfway, what went through is kept : run the import again and it picks up where it stopped.

Step by step

  1. Find your export. It's the archive TV Time sent you when you asked for your data. The file you need is a CSV, often named tracking-prod-records-v2.csv.
  2. Put it on your iPhone. AirDrop, iCloud Drive, an email to yourself, whatever works, it just has to show up in the Files app.
  3. Open ATJV settings. Profile tab, the wrench in the top right corner.
  4. Run the import. In the Backup section, tap "Coming from TV Time" and pick your CSV. A counter shows how far it got, with a few hundred shows it can take a little while.
  5. Read the summary. You see the shows that made the move, the ones already on your couch and the ones left on the platform, meaning TMDB couldn't find them. Then the app asks if you want to send them into the arena : say yes and they go into duels, and your tier list starts building with them.

What doesn't make it

The very last TV Time exports, the 2026 ones, came as folders of JSON files. ATJV can't read that format yet. I never had a real file in front of me and I didn't want to guess how it's built. If that's yours, email me the file at support-atjv@dehvs.com and I'll teach the app.

Also not imported : single episodes (ATJV doesn't track them), shows you had dropped (the CSV doesn't say it reliably, so everything comes in as "seen"), and your comments.

After that

The import lives in the settings, so you do it after the first welcome screens of the app. Once your shows are in, your profile starts from your whole history instead of the few favorites picked at the start, and the show the app suggests in the evening takes it into account. It's free, it works without an account, and it's iPhone only for now.
